| The Michigan Theater |
I've only been inside of this building one time, for an event for my magnet class, which if you're read my artist statements from the Objects assignment, you can probably guess that the experience wasn't all that pleasant. I was cold, annoyed and just not at all in the mood to be anywhere, but my bed. The only good thing about that day was my trip to the Chipotle down the street following the event. Yesterday, though, I was able to see the building in a more positive light as I scoured downtown Ann Arbor for spots to take my architecture photos. The lightly colored brick contrasting the pastel colored mosaic on the building make for a lovely photo op if I do say so myself. Even the underside of the marquee has intricate paneling, which I took pictures of, but didn't choose to edit and upload.

| Under Construction |
After emerging from the tunnel/ walkway pictured above, I heard an obnoxious noise coming from above. I heard grinding metal and screeching, the sound effects of good old construction. Is it just me or does construction really bother anyone else? Like I don't know it's just the fact that there's just always some structure or road that isn't complete or perfect enough for our liking that kind of just bothers me. I suppose as a perfectionist when it comes to some things, I just wish that cities could be built all at once and then "opened," for activity when construction is complete. Also this is definitely my weakest picture. Between the fact that it was cool for my liking outside and that I really didn't wanna to rack up my parking time and bill, I wasn't really paying as much attention as I should have been to the image quality. Ms. G confirmed this when she came around and saw my photos. |

I don't have much to say about this photo. The building pictured was the first one I saw upon exiting the parking structure. I was obviously in a rush to get the photos taken quickly. I don't know what it is about this building, but it just oozes depression and despondency to me. It's weird too because its awning is painted with Christmas colors, which is supposed to be the happiest holiday of the year.

This column/ arch/ walkway is one of the first places I went during my first ever trip to downtown Ann Arbor. I never knew that there was such a developed and bustling downtown setting near me and everything about it enchanted me. I saw this walkway (I seriously have no recollection of its actual name) and fell instantly in love. I love atriums and glass ceilings as well as the kind of gothic, but also modern architectural style. All of the little shops inside are just too cute. I love going window shopping when I'm there. I think I've talked about my love and fascination with the fantasy/ adventure genre before and this pathway really reminds me of Alice leaving the outside world and entering Wonderland.

| Montar una Bicicleta |
Okay, Tylar told me that bike wheels counted as architecture so if I get docked points, it's on her. Anyway, though I really really love bike riding. See, I enjoy exercising outdoors, but running is too tiring and walking is too slow. On my bike, I have the best of both worlds. I can go fast while not tiring myself out. I took these picture in front of a bike shop downtown. I'm going off to college in a few months and I was really excited to have the opportunity to purchase a new bike before I left. I've always wanted a cream colored cruiser. However, upon visiting, I found that there wasn't really space or a need for a bike because my campus is so small. That was extremely disappointing. |
